Problem

What's the procedure to delete Cygwin from my Windows Operating System?

Solution

Stop running Cywgin programs, if any
Remove the Cygwin installation directory, typically C:\cygwin
(optional) Delete all registry keys /Software/Cygnus Solutions/Cygwin with * being HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE as well as all HKEY_USERS subkeys of users which have used Cygwin.
