Upgrade to Ubuntu 7.10

Problem
I want to upgrade Ubuntu-7.04 to Ubuntu-7.10, but I receive the error:
A unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bugreport.Environment

Solution
Update Manager showed a waiting package upgrade named `nfs-common', but with regular upgrades I could not select this package and thus it remained unupgraded. After starting {System | Administration | Synaptic Package Manager} and selecting - I believe - {Custom Filters | Upgradable (upstream)} I was able to select the `nfs-common' package and {Apply} the upgrade. After that, I was able to successfully use Upgrade Manager to upgrade from Ubuntu-7.04 to Ubuntu-7.10.

Start {System | Update Manager}. In the top should be a message "New distribution release '7.10' is available". Press `Upgrade'.
After some time I receive this message:
Support for some applications ended
Canonical Ltd. no longer provides support for the following software packages. You can still get support from the community.
If you have not enabled community maintained software (universe), these packages will be suggested for removal at the end of the upgrade.
