Onyx Boox: White line on screen

Problem

There seems to be a problem with eInk displays. All brands (e.g. BeBook, enTourage, Sony) are subject to having one or more white lines displayed suddenly, and the Onyx is no exception. After nine months of use, a white line suddenly appeared near the bottom of the screen:

Solution

From these forum threads:

it is advised to use the warranty and get the screen replaced.

I bought my Onyx Boox Jan 10, 2010 from http://www.ebookreaderdiscounter.com/ so I contacted them and got the screen replaced.

Geachte mevrouw/mijnheer,

10 Januari 2010 heb ik een Onyx Boox 60 e-reader gekocht via 
www.ebookreaderdiscounter.com.  Helaas verscheen er 1 maand geleden een
witte lijn op het scherm.  Voor afbeeldingen, zie mijn website:

Is het mogelijk om het scherm te vervangen omdat dit defect optreedt binnen 
de garantietermijn?  Waar kan ik de Onyx Boox naartoe sturen voor reparatie?

Dag Freddy,

Bedankt voor uw ticket, erg vervelend dat uw Onyx Boox defect is.

Via deze website kunt u een RMA aanvragen bij Digitest, zij mailen u verder met instructies voor het
versturen van de ereader. Accessoires kunt u hoe dan ook beter niet mee verzenden omdat het
mogelijk is dat deze kwijt raken.

Succes ermee, mocht u nog vragen hebben hoor ik dat graag.

My Onyx Boox 60 arrived at Digitest. They sent me a status report by e-mail: 

Status: Spare part is not on stock, ordered

Received back my Onyx Boox 60 via UPS and the accompanying letter states "Warranty Repair". The screen looks all right. I can see a tiny (1 mm) physical black border around the screen now which wasn't there before; either the screen is a little bit smaller or the screen is of a different type which makes the borders show black... But the screen looks all rights with the white line gone. Me happy!
