Owner review: Speedlink Comfort Slide Keyboard
From FVue
Contents
Pros
- Scroll wheel just below the spacebar
- Small size – the numeric pad can be 'slided' rightwards from underneath the QWERTY keys
- additional USB-connection on the back of the keyboard
- Large BackSpace key
- Small Enter key, occupying just one row
Cons
- No ps/2 connection
- Too much symbols on the keys makes you loose orientation when looking at the keys. The package also showed me keys WITHOUT all these symbols. In the end I scratched all the superfluous symbols of the keys with a sharp knife.
- The CapsLock key was stuck to the bottom when I unpacked the keyboard. When lifting the CapsLock key, it appeared a metal wire underneath the key (to distribute the key pressure horizontally) wasn't attached to the bottom. I manually had to repair this.
- This is personal, but I would've like to see less pressure needed to press a key
- Keys, if not pressed in the center, exhibit too much resistance. Especially with the TAB-key which is a large key was causing my little finger troubles. After lifting the TAB key it appeared there was place for a metal wire to distribute the key pressure horizontally (like I found in the CapsLock key), but the wire wasn't there? I manually bend a paperclip wire to put underneath the TAB-key and now it is working a lot better.
- Unnecessary `|\' key left of the spacebar
- Size of the right control keys `Alt Gr, Windows, Right mouse button, Ctrl' too small
Specifications
- Type number: SL-6487-SBK-UI
- a.k.a. iBall Compact Keyboard
