Problem

Unable to play .wma stream from http://www.omroep.nl/nps/kunststof/welcome_highres.html. Mozilla gives me two options:

1. Open it with the default application (MPlayer)
2. Open it with /usr/lib/RealPlayer10/realplay

1. MPlayer opens with a file 'streams-1', but nothing is played 2. RealPlayer shows error message:

Component Missing
The player does not have the capabilities to play back this content
Details...
The following components are required: Unknown FileFormat
URL: file:///tmp/proj/streams-3

Solution

  • Copy the .wma url into mplayer {Right-click mplayer | Open... | Play URL...}
